Mail app not using set default email account

My default email on the mail app is set to my personal email (a yahoo account), but it doesn't actually default to that email since I got a new iPhone. I really try to separate my personal and work e-mails and this is messing it up. I've double checked and restarted phone, but it keeps trying to use a gmail account as the default. Help!

Settings, Apps, Mail, in Composing section, Default account, then select the preferred one
