Predictive text stopped working on my iPad after updating to iOS 26.2. I tried all suggested remedies online and YouTube but none worked, like toggling it on/off in settings, turning iPad on/off, resetting the dictionary.

I found the answer on a random Facebook thread of all places.. it worked for me. "Go to Multitasking & Gestures…choose Full Screen Apps…it’ll fix it immediately. It won’t work if you’ve selected Windowed Apps or Stage Manager."

OMG, I reverted back to full screen as you suggested and it worked perfectly. Thanks so much - I would have never guessed to check Multitasking & Gestures! Was this posted on a Facebook Apple group?
Technically it was in a fb group titled "iOS" - the thread was from September 2025 and it was buried in the comments. But I just got lucky with my hyper-specific google search and the fact that actual relevant answers were coming up for me. Glad it worked for you too!
Thank you for the suggestion, but I had already tried the forced restart several times with no result. Perhaps the next update will resolve the issue.
