Problems with window resizing on Mac

What is this madness with resizing windows being such a pain in Tahoe? Multiple websites are reporting this nonsense. The hit box to select the edge of a window is tiny, often just failing and showing arrows for a millisecond and going away. When resizing at a corner, can't grab the corner. Sometimes if you're quick it will let you resize a window without showing you any arrows at all, cursor just stays same and lets you resize.

This is well documented now on multiple websites and it's nothing short of completely maddening. Why should I have to WORK at resizing a window? This is idiotic when there has NEVER been an issue with resizing windows on a Mac before. Surely the devs are aware of this huge blunder.

Like Leroy, I'm not able to reproduce the issues you are reporting.

For me, whether in Finder, Safari, Word ... other apps ... I move the cursor (with a mouse, I am using a 2019 MacBook Pro 16" (Intel) on 26.2, but it works the same with the trackpad) to the boundary of the window ... it can be the left, right, top, bottom boundary, or one of the corners -- then arrows appear and I just drag to resize. It seems the same as it was (for me) in Sequoia.

Can you run Etrecheck and post its report here? It's free and an anonymous report, it may provide clues about what is causing your difficulty. See link below:

Sorry don't have the issue, and not experienced this.

To be proactive you can file a bug report / submit your Apple Feedback here: Product Feedback - Apple

To trouble shoot further you can:

—A SafeBoot Start up your Mac in safe mode - Apple Support will sort many anomalies

Login and test. Reboot as normal and test. Caches get rebuilt automatically.

This test will tell you if third party interference; most extensions etc are not loaded in safe boot mode.

—Test issue in another user (or guest user) account Change Users & Groups settings on Mac - Apple Support

This will tell you if it a universal issue or isolated to your user/admin account.

I've noticed this too, and finally decided to scour the web for solutions. It turned out that for my case, the "hitbox" for resizing windows is much larger than what the arrows show. So if I ignore the arrows, and just "go for it," usually I will be able to adjust the window size. I hope this works for you too!

0n 26.1 I see the same problem, and the user interface is a lot less responsive. It is consistent with other terrible changes Apple has implemented on both maOS and iOS. Erase disk just below Eject? Really, Apple? For those of us who list e-mail from the most recent at the top of the screen, the change of the search function to the bottom of the screen is terrible. This prioritizing of form over function is not what I expected from Apple. At this point, I do not find my Microsoft surface to be any less irritating.
