Unexpected noises, such as you describe, can sometimes be caused by the adhesive that holds the iPad's battery to the unibody chassis - or the adhesive that attaches the iPad screen. Noises from these sources cannot be assessed remotely - but can be identified by physical inspection.

Your iPad, purchased from an independent retailer, still has a warranty. You should, in the first instance, seek assistance from your retailer - who may replace the iPad.

Alternatively, you have benefit of Apple's limited one-year warranty that also covers manufacturing detects. To explore this avenue, you would be best advised to visit the Genius Bar at your local Apple Store or Apple Authorised Service Provider (AASP) - where the technicians will be able to assess your iPad. If a defect is confirmed, you will be able to explore your available options for remedy.

iPad Air M3 emits a crackling sound

Hi, I bought an iPad Air M3 a week ago. I would like to know if it is normal to hear a kind of "snat" every now and then. I don't understand if it's a kind of aluminum expansion or if it comes from the speakers.

You would be best advised to visit the Genius Bar at your local Apple Store or Apple Authorised Service Provider (AASP) - where the technicians will be able to hands-on test and assess your iPad. If a defect is identified, you will be in the best possible place to explore your available options for remedy.

If purchased directly from Apple, in most countries/regions you have up to 14-days within which you may unconditionally return an undamaged device to Apple for exchange or refund. If you any concerns whatsoever with your new iPad, you would be well advised to take advantage of this opportunity while it remains available to you. Beyond 14-days, Apple reserves the right to replace a defective item with a renewed/reconditioned device of the same model and specification.
