Synchronization of favorite contacts iOS26.

Hello,

My favorite contacts appeared on my wife's phone and vice versa.

I turned off contact syncing on both iPhones in iCloud - nothing.

I turned off Family Sharing - nothing.

I turned off iCloud - nothing.

I don't know what to do? My wife doesn't want my favorites and vice versa. Especially since they're also work numbers.

I miss the simplicity of Apple when Steve was in charge.

If you share an Apple ID with your wife, many features—messages, photos, calls, and more—end up syncing across devices. To avoid accidental oversharing (and surprises 😄), each person should have their own Apple ID and use Family Sharing instead.

Unlike some Android devices, contacts are neither stored locally on an iPhone nor in the SIM. They are synced to an email account that you have Google, iCloud, AOL, Exchange, Outlook, Yahoo, or any Other

If you have a corporate email account added through a profile on your device, please check with your organization's system administrator.

Is this your corporate/organization/enterprise/School Management iPhone? Then please contact the system administrator of your corporate//organisation/enterprise/School Management
If it is your device, in that case, do you have any profile installed by your corporate/organization/enterprise/School Management?
1. Erase the profile added by you. If you have installed a profile on your own, --> Install or remove configuration profiles on iPhone - Apple ...
2. Please contact the system administrator of the organization who provided the profile to you

Both iPhones are private. We do not share anything but we have one Apple ID.
