Print specific PDF area to fill page in Preview

My system: Macbook Pro M2, Sequoia 15.7.3

Using Preview, I am trying to print a portion of a .pdf file so that I can fill the sheet with the area of interest.

Essentially what I am trying to do is print what Ad~e calls current view.

The Preview help does not seem to indicate this is possible. Does anyone know of a way to do this?

Thanks for the help!

I have an equation between paragraphs in a PDF opened in Preview. I can select Tools > Rectangular Selection and outline the equation. Then I can select View > Zoom to Selection.

Next, from the Edit menu, select Copy and the selected region (my equation) is placed on the clipboard where the Preview File menu > New from Clipboard can act on it. Now, in my case, I have just the image of the previously selected equation in a new Preview window.

I then choose File menu > Export… as a newly named PDF document and the resulting PDF has just the dimensions of the equation.

I see no means to do what you want to do in the same PDF document. You may find yourself taking the action I did above. A proper PDF editor may allow more functionality.
