iPhone 17 Pro calls show 'Restricted' Caller ID on Pixel

I have this issue when I call my partner, my calls show up on his phone as “Restricted.”

This only happens when I call him. When I call anyone else, my number (and name, if saved) shows correctly. When my partner calls me, his phone correctly shows my name as he saved it. So the issue is one-way and only affects my outgoing calls to him.

Devices & carrier:

  • Me: iPhone 17 Pro (iOS 26.2)
  • Partner: Google Pixel (Android 16)
  • Carrier for both of us: Visible

Timeline:

  • Everything worked fine when I was using an iPhone 12 Pro.
  • The issue started immediately after I switched to the iPhone 17 Pro in early December.

What we’ve tried (with Visible support):

  • Reset network settings on both phones
  • Verified Caller ID settings on both phones
  • Had Visible “reset” my Caller ID on their end for both numbers (they said it could take up to 10 business days)
  • Multiple rounds of troubleshooting with Visible

None of this has changed the behavior.

At this point, we’re not sure if this is:

  • An iPhone 17 Pro / iOS issue
  • A Pixel/Android compatibility issue
  • Or something broken on Visible’s backend tied to my device upgrade

Has anyone experienced this? Were you able to fix it, and if so, how?

Visible hasn’t been very helpful so far, so I’m hoping someone here might have insight.

Thanks in advance!

This is a known issue on the Visible/Verizon network. If iPhone > Settings > Apps > Phone > Show My Caller ID is off (or stuck spinning / missing, which is a known issue on Visible, your number is sent as private and shows as restricted on the other end.

Visible does not fully support traditional “name” caller ID (premium caller ID), and users numbers show as “Restricted or Unknown” or no number. Your iPhone supports all kinds of caller ID features, while Visible’s network does not. Solution is to choose a better/different network.

Next step would be for both of you to contact your phone carriers.
