Approximately how much faster is charging with a 96 watt charger Vs a 70 watt charger please? (2021 MacBook Pro 14") Thank you

The people at Apple included two different options: “67W USB-C Power Adapter (M1 Pro with 8-core CPU) or 96W USB-C Power Adapter (M1 Pro with 10-core CPU or M1 Max)”, presumable because the higher-spec Mac charging rate was deemed inadequate with the lower-spec power supply.

Not sure I would spend extra — I would use what ships as default.


You will have to do the calculus I see no chart delineating a time difference, besides the link BobTheFisherman posted above.


"When you connect the appropriate power source and cable to your compatible Mac, you can quickly charge your battery up to 50 percent in around 30 minutes."


The rule of thumb—if you are near the mains leave it plugged in, if you need the portability then run on the battery only—this is how you help optimize your battery charging and extend the working life of your battery by reducing the cycle count.
