In iOS26.2, how do I block senders of messages that have been classified as spam?

In messages, in the spam "folder", I can not block these spammers. When I click the spam message and then click the sender info above the message, nothing happens. Previously, it would open something that would give me the option of blocking this sender.

Also, if I am in that spam folder and delete a message by swiping left and then clicking the delete button, all it does is delete. Previously, it would offer me the choice to delete, or delete and block.

And yes, I realize it is putting this stuff in a spam folder. But I don't even want it there. I want these people blocked.

There is no option to block once its bin filtered to Spam.

The block option. appears for items that have not been filtered as spam and still get sorted into regular messages. Then the process you describe works as expected.

Best thing to do, is to just delete them.

If you want an option to block these spammy numbers you can offer Apple feedback.
