Series 11 watch face complications won’t allow step counter to be added?

Just upgraded my watch from a series 8 to series 11. I’ve used the Activity Digital watch face for years now with the Duffy app step counter in the top left, workout in the top right, date at the bottom. Now Apple isn’t allowing me to add the Duffy app to the watch face at all anymore? Can this be corrected? I like having my rings and steps showing.
