Strange, bright light encircled the screen

A bright, wide, smooth curved light suddenly came on my new Mac Air screen during a Zoom call. When you move the cursor, it fades in the places the cursor passes over, then brightens up again.

I couldn't find any relevant controls seemed, and I don't know why it started. Opening FaceTime made it go away for a few minutes, then it came on again. I took a screenshot but it doesn't show up on it. Luckily I used another device to take a photo so at least I have proof of its having happened. It looks a lot like a feature, like neon light fixture that might go around a mirror for brightness.

I am not sharing the photo here, because it was a zoom call and there are identifiable people on the call and I don't have permission to make their images public. I didn't think to take another picture of the desktop alone. I thought the screenshot would capture it.

The light was very annoying, very bright, and nothing I did knowing to make it happen, or could find a control to make it stop. And the second time it came on opening FaceTime didn't make it stop.

Should I be worried? Any ideas?
