Cannot print email in iPad os26

In the latest version of the iPad operating system 26, I am unable to print an email message. I cannot see any icon or other button that would allow me to print the message. I guess if I want to print it, I will need to go to my Mac.

The location of the Print option in the apple Mail app on iPad has not changed in like 6 or 7 years.

It can be found at the bottom of the email message you want to print by tapping on the arrow pointing to the left.

there and then scrolling to the bottom of the menu that appears.

Again, this has not changed in a long time. iOS 26 did not move it in any way.

It's been exactly the same since around iOS 13.

Scroll to the bottom of the email message that you wish to print. At the bottom-right corner of the Mail window you will see a reply button; tap to expose the associated Action Menu.

Scroll through the available actions, then select Print.

But this is an incomprehensibly dumb and inefficient way to print an email.
Why not just have a print icon at the top of the email? Seriously, why not?
First, you have to scroll all the way down to the end of the email.
Then you have to click the mystery arrow.
Then you have to scroll down another menu to even see Print.
Then you have to click the Print Icon.
Seriously? Four steps instead of one?

If your iPad is running iPadOS 26 - and is using Windowed Apps mode - you can access the Print option directly from the new top-menu bar. First, ensure that Windowed Apps mode is selected:

Settings > Multitasking & Gestures - select Windowed Apps

With Windowed Apps mode selected, you can print from the Mail (or other Apps) simply by using the new top-menu bar...

To expose the top menu bar, simply swipe-down from the top-edge of the screen. From menu menu bar, tap the File menu - and from this menu select Print:

If you are using an external keyboard, the print option can be accessed using a keyboard shortcut - ⌘ P.

The reply button is now at the TOP and no longer has any option for printing.

Ignore the reply button within the toolbar at the top of the Mail reading pane.

Instead scroll to the bottom of the email message within the reading pane - where at bottom-right you will find another reply button (see my screenshot within this thread). Touch-and-hold this reply button to expose the Action Menu - where you will find the Print option.

YES. Thank you. Swiping to the LEFT on the email message does bring up reply button that has print function. Obviously the people with reply button at bottom or that say it hasn’t changed in years have not upgraded their system. I don’t know how Apple expects us to know this.

The option at very bottom of the email message is still there on iOS 26. It has not changed. It's at the very end of the email message, not the bottom of the window or screen.

The option by swiping left is not mentioned anywhere by Apple this is true, I guess this is a case of try and see if you find hidden options.

Swiping to one side or the other has generally been the way to get extra options on iPads and iiPhones specially in the Mail app. But yes, that is a well hidden option.

Alternatively, if using Windowed Apps or Stage Manager in Settings ➜ Multitasking & Gestures, it will offer a Mac like menu bar by swiping down from the top of the screen, and the Print option can be found in the File Menu.

The left swipe and these above, are all the ways to get to the Print Option in iOS 26 I believe exist.

I’ve searched all over to resolve this issue for myself and I stumbled on this by pure accident. To print an email YES you have select the REPLY. The trick is to find the CORRECT reply button. What I stumbled on was to simply open the email then start swiping the body of the email to the LEFT and you will see two options, the first being REPLY. Tap that and you’ll be able to select the print option.

Swipe options and their configuration are indeed documented within both the iPad and iPhone User Guides:

Manage an email with a swipe

While viewing a message list, you can use a simple swipe to move individual emails to the Trash, mark them as read, and more.

  1. Go to the Mail app  on your iPad.
  2. In a message list, do any of the following:
    • Reveal a list of actions: Slowly drag a message to the left until the menu appears, then tap an item.
    • Quickly use the rightmost action: Swipe all the way to the left.
    • Reveal other actions: Swipe right.

To choose the actions you want to appear in the menus, go to Settings  > Apps > Mail > Swipe Options (below Message List).
