How do I select which frame in a live photo to apply the portrait mode?

I'm having difficulty changing the frame on a Live Photo that is chosen as the portrait mode. When I go into live frame view (in the editing mode), I can change the frame chosen as the key frame, but I can't change the frame that is selected for portrait mode - after I enable portrait mode, the selected frame reverts to the pre-selected portrait frame, as shown in the screen grab below.

The image below is self-explanatory. The steps outlined here do not change the core Live Photo functionality. You can choose to keep Live Photos enabled and set a Live Photo as your wallpaper, or you can turn Live Photos off as shown. The choice is entirely yours.

In this example, Live Photos are turned off, though this is not mandatory. However, if your goal is to display a specific Key Photo on the wallpaper, disabling Live Photos can be helpful.

sorry, your graphic just explains how to change the key frame of a Live Photo; what I'm trying to do is apply the portrait controls to a specific (chosen) key frame in a Live Photo. As I mentioned above, when I choose portrait mode on a Live Photo where I have selected the key frame, the Live Photo is defaulting to a pre-designated frame as the frame to apply the portrait mode to, not the selected key frame
