Transfer books from Kindle to iPad
I have an old kindle and I wish to transfer some books from the old kindle to my new ipad
iMac 24″, macOS 26.2

If you install the Kindle app on your iPad, you should be able to access everything in your Kindle library.
If you have problems, best ask in the support forum at Amazon for the Kindle app.
(This forum is for Apple's Books app, which doesn't read Kindle books)
