Apple Notes PDF form text misalignment on iPad Pro

I am editing a pdf in apple notes with ios 26.2 on my ipad pro 13”.

I hit the ‘forms’ button and blue boxes appear for each blank. great.

If I click on one of the blue boxes, the blue box disappears and my cursor shows up in its place. however a yellow rectangle appears about an inch above the box i had selected and where my cursor is now blinking. if i start typing, the text shows up in the box about 1” higher than i where I intended. I have seen other posts, but none of the tips or tricks helped.

I have attached a photo of the blue boxes(form fill view) and when i click on a box, you can see the misalignment between the cursor and the yellow rectangle box……
