Clock App on iPad not in iCloud backup list.

I recently purchased a new iPad (A16). I did not get the option to set up using a backup. I set up as new. I noticed the clock app is not listed in iCloud backup list on the iPad. Is there a way to add it?

iPad, iPadOS 26

No actual apps are included in an iCloud Backup, only the data an app uses. The data that the clock app uses, such as any added alarms or locations, is backed up along with the other system settings of the device and there is not an additional setting to turn it on or off in the iCloud backup.

Also, there is no syncing of Clock data using iCloud, meaning the data is stored on each device independently and when you add an alarm on one device, it does not show up on any other using the same Apple Account.

Some small utility Apps, such as the native Clock App, having no significant data or settings, are not explicitly listed for inclusion with a a device backup. If a new device is set-up using the Transfer process, all local settings are transferred from the donor to target device.

As you did not perform a transfer from another device, you will need to setup the clock - along with its associated timers and cities - manually.

Does it not backup once you add the alarms? Even after I added the alarms it does not appear in the backup list. Do I have to do anything to get it to show up?

Alarms are included in the iCloud backup just like the other Settings on your device that you may have changed. You do not need to do anything and the Clock app will not show in your iCloud backup as an option to turn on/off. When you set up the device from an iCloud Backup, the alarms will be included that were set when it last backed up.
