You can get the exact model of the iMac by entering the system serial number on the Apple check coverage page here, but please do not post the serial number on the forum since it is considered personal information:

It’s just my mouse and keyboard will not work on the login screen but will work on the reboot screen and other screens.
My guess is the internal HD is having problems or the file system is damaged. Have you tried running Disk Utility First Aid on the drive while booted into Recovery Mode?

Try running the Apple Diagnostics to see if any hardware issues are detected.
Try booting into Safe Mode to see if that makes any difference.

Go to > If you can't connect your Magic Keyboard, Magic Mouse, or Magic Trackpad to your Mac - Apple Support and follow those directions.
If you forgot or entered the wrong password to many times, see > If you forgot your Mac login password - Apple Support
i don’t know which year model it is because it’s my brother and we don’t have the package anymore. I have a wired keyboard and a mouse i got 2 years ago . The keyboard and mouse works completely fine btw, i tested it out on a separate device. It’s just my mouse and keyboard will not work on the login screen but will work on the reboot screen and other screens.
that’s not it, the keyboard does work, just not on the login screen. I’ve tried the command alt p and r combo and it just made me go back to the login screen
What year model is your iMac...?
What keyboard and mouse do you have...?
Did you completely ignore what I said? I know my password, and I have not entered the wrong password TOO many times.
