How to revert from iOS 26.2.1 to a previous version?

I need to remove IOS 26.2.1 (23C71) I want the previous version back. For some reason the so called "upgrade" installed itself without any authorization. I need to remove IOS 26.2.1 and have the previous version back. How do I do that?

iPhone 13, iOS 26

Three other users have tried to explain this to you, but you don't seem to understand that it is not possible to revert to a previous iOS version.

If your iPhone was updated to iOS 26.2.1, then that is the end of the story. Even if you erase your phone, the current iOS version will be reinstalled.

That is the way it is. That is the way that it always has been. Apple has never supported downgrading.

Did you read this part of my reply?

Five users have now explained to you that you cannot do what you want to do. You can contact Apple Support for the same answer. You can continue to ask the same question, but the answer will not change.

At this point, there is no reason to continue this discussion unless you have a different question to ask.

You cannot do that. But you can minimize the effects this way:

Reduce Liquid Glass Effect: Fortunately, you can adjust this effect if you want. You can tweak how transparent your iPhone looks. Here's how:

  • Open the Settings app.
  • Scroll down and go to Accessibility.
  • Tap on Display & Text Size.
  • Turn on Reduce Transparency

This user tip should be helpful.

On a side note, the update will only install if you have the setting set to Settings > General > Software Update > Automatic Updates: On. It will not update itself.

According to Apple:

After a software update is installed for iOS, iPadOS, tvOS, watchOS, and visionOS, it cannot be downgraded to the previous version.

What you can do about this:

Open Settings ➢ Accessibility ➢ Display & Text Size, then toggle Reduce Transparency = on.

Also in Settings ➢ Accessibility ➢ Motion, then toggle Reduce Motion = on.

Also in Settings ➢ Display & Brightness ➢ Liquid Glass ➢ Tinted.

In addition, you can provide ⇢ Product Feedback.

If enough requests are made, your feedback might help with future development, like a toggle in the settings.

Good luck! 👋🏼😉

You need the OS on the phone in order for it to start up. You can certainly Factory Reset your phone to start over, but the OS installed on it will be the latest version that you have now. You can go into Settings > General > Software Updates and turn off Automatic Updates to prevent it from updating again.

Using a computer to perform the Factory Reset will completely wipe the entire phone including the OS, but again the new one will have to be downloaded and installed in order for your phone to start up.
