Random devices connecting to bluetooth on iphone XR

Whenever I use bluetooth, random devices keep connecting to my iphone XR such as 'Edward's A12','Pixel 8a' or 'iPad'. This happens specifically in college which constantly freezes and switches off my music, and these devices never have the little i icon to forget them. Is there any way to permanently get rid of them, or block random devices from connecting to my phone?

iPhone XR, iOS 18

The devices aren’t actually connecting to your device. Your device is receiving general information that the device is nearby. If it were actually connected to your iPhone it would have the information button you could press and disconnect the device.

Many devices use what is known as Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) an ultra low power consumption mode. The Bluetooth spec currently calls for your device to accept those identifiers but not actually pair. Your device is performing to spec.

What music app are you using iTunes or a third party app?
