gallery not transfered in new iphone with child account

Hello,

I got an iphone 17 for my 12 year old daughter and set it up and transfered data from her older iphone 13. But then we noticed, that only a few photos (ca 100 from 1300) where transefered from her gallery and I cannot find the way to transfer them all.

I cannot get into her icloud in any way; the sign is transparent and I cannot click on it on both phones, I guess it is because she is 12 years old and has a child account??

How can I connect her icloud account and transfer her photos?

Unfortunately there is no apple store nearby..

ps. she had only the phone capacity, not extra icloud capacity.

How exactly did you transfer the data?

Quick Start? a Backup? some other way?

If the account option is grayed out, its because of Screen Time settings, not her age directly. Go into the Screen Time settings ➜ Content & Privacy Restrictions ➜ Allow changes to ➜ Accounts and make sure it's turned on.

Then you should be able to verify the device is logged in to iCloud and turn on iCloud Photos if she was using that feature on the other iPhone.

If she was not using the feature, then the photos would be backed up when performing an iCloud backup and restored when you set up the new iPhone from the backup of the old iPhone or when using Quick Start to setup the new iPhone.

If that is not the case, then you can use AirDrop to transfer the photos manually.

Of the Photos where being synced with iCloud, then you need to turn on the iCloud Photos option on the new iPhone.

Settings ➜ Apps ➜ Photos ➜ iCloud Photos. Make sure its turned on.

The Screen time option should be on her new phone not yours, though you should be able to control it from yours under her Screen time settings. It has to be there, there is no way it s not so you may just be missing it. you have to scroll down a bit in Content & Privacy restrictions to find it.

Thank you very much for your answer.

i used the Quick Start and put her older iPhone next to the new. Maybe there was a step about the iCloud which a passed ?? We noticed the missing photos the next day.

the account is grqyed in both her iPhones and I cannot find what you write in the screen time settings of her Phone or mine.

By the way, in her older phone when I open the gallery on the top right is her account and when I click I see that all her photos are on the iCloud. On the new iPhone I cannot see this information, so I guess maybe she is not singed in in iCloud in the new phone?

maybe I should do the set up of the new phone again?

thank you!
