AirPods Pro 3 completely dead and won't charge

My AirPods Pro 3 have died completely. They were charged and while using them they just went dead. No lights, don't show up anywhere., no reset possible. Won't charge with either by USB-C or magnetically (although they were charged). Whatever the equivalent term to brick is for AirPods, that's what they are.

I have a genius bar appt- I really can't think of anything else to do.

Any ideas??
