I have a new MacBook Pro - and a new Mac user... I was playing with the screen recording, and now there is a floating text on my desktop that says .. Stop Screen Recording. It will minimize to tray bottom when I click on may desktop, but when I have any app open it displays .. its displaying as I type this.. How do I get rid of it..

I don't see it.
Did you quit the Screen Recording? Is that the issue...
6 To stop recording, click the Stop button in the menu bar, or press Command-Control-Esc (Escape).

There is: "Command . " key combination for screen shots that will abort. Do not know about screen recording however.
