dragging a file from one folder to another used to perform a Move of the file but now, on macOS Tahoe V26.2 the same action execute a Copy. How do I get it back to executing a Move of the file? Thanks.

Are there different file systems involved? That has always been a copy unless you hold the correct modifier keys.
Does the source file's directory allow you to remove things from it?
Are there Access Control Lists attached to the file that would prevent you from removing it from its current directory?

there are only so many modifier keys and combinations...try them
ex
Command key while dragging to another volume: Move the dragged item to the other volume, instead of copying it.
