iPhone locked by unknown Apple ID

Hello.

I need help with an iPhone that belongs to my sister.

She previously signed in with another person’s Apple ID because he told her to do so in order to download an app.

Now that Apple ID is still on the iPhone, we do not know the password, and we cannot sign out.

The iPhone is her personal device. We have the original box with the serial number and IMEI.

We would like to request removal of this Apple ID / Activation Lock, as the device belongs to us.

Please let us know what documents or photos you need to verify ownership.

Thank you.

Never sign into a stranger’s Apple ID, no matter what goodies they promise you, or what sob story they tell.

As you and your sister are now finding out, this is a good way to wind up with your iPhone or iPad being turned into a useless brick after scammers take it hostage.
