Apple ID password not working for the App Store

My Apple ID password does not work for the App Store. I changed it on January 9, with enough feedback to confirm. Neither the new or old PW woks. How do I correct this?

"When you make certain updates to your Apple ID, we’ll send you an email to help you complete the update. For example, you might have reset your password, reset your security questions, or added a new email address to your account." Also check your junk mail.


If you find you can’t sign in, reset your password, or receive verification codes, you can request account recovery (read this support article: How to use account recovery when you can’t reset your Apple Account password - Apple Support ) to regain access to your account. Account recovery might take a few days or longer, depending on the specific account information you can provide to verify your identity. This is a multi-step process. Yes, I have been able to sign in here (iMac), possibly using a new passkey I got today while scrambling. This still does not work with the App Store. I have always used the same account for App Store and all things Apple.

Although I was able to download the updated Keynote on my iPad without entering any password at all.


That still does not solve my issue with the iMac. Thank you for your reply.

The question posted by the moderator, failed to include that I had changed the password on January 9th. I received an eMail yesterday that my password had been changed yesterday. January 29th. There seems to her a possibility that my password has been hacked and my access failed because I don't know their password.


How can I correct this?
