Does Apple Maps avoid ZTLs in Italy?

When traveling in Italy, is Apple Maps ZTL aware? Will it steer you away from travel restricted Zones?

OK, he said both Apple Maps and Google Maps actively guide you into a Zone if the address is within a Zone. He and most drivers use Waze and a companion app designed to work with Waze to direct you around or avoid a Zone. He gave me a couple names, but they aren’t in the US App Store.

He did mention that Apple Maps has a low emission zone notification in Maps, but by itself is not a complete enough solution for Italy. He recommended ZTL Radar to pair with Waze. He said ZTL is just OK for Apple Maps and really recommends Waze and ZTL Radar.

He also noted to watch for signs alerting you to zones as you approach. You’ll still get fined if caught even though the app said it was OK.
