iOS 26 call screening known contacts. Why is this happening?! I’d like to continue using the feature for unknown callers, but I don’t want saved contacts calls to be screened. It’s very annoying, I know this because it’s also happening on my husband’s phone. when I call him, his phone screens my call!

Please check the Phone Number format stored in your Contact list. There must not be any manually added spaces in between the numbers. However when you enter a phone number iPhone will add spaces, hyphen & parenthesis based on the country code prefixed to the number. That is OK, but do not add manually.

If the caller is already known to you and their phone number is saved in your Contacts in the correct international format (including country code), iOS treats the call as trusted. In such cases, features like Call Screening, Silence Unknown Callers, or call filtering will not be triggered, and the call will ring normally. These protections are designed only for unknown or unsaved numbers, not for contacts you have explicitly added.
