Unable to get creation finance for new iphone

I am applying for creation finance to get a new iphone and my application keeps getting declined. I have no debt and I checked my experian credit score and it's green so I don't know why I'm getting declined. I also am on the last month of my Barclays finance package for my current iphone which I got fine when I was earning significantly less money and had more debt. Does anyone have any advice?! Also suggest apple go back to barclays as this creation service is awful compared to barclays!

iPhone 14, iOS 26

You're not writing anyone at Apple here. This is a user to user only forum, which Apple neither participates, nor reads for user feedback. As users only, we can't possibly know why your loan application is being denied, nor can we tell Apple what Loan Company they should be using.

I don't know how things work in the UK, but here in the US, when a loan is denied, the loan originator is obligated to provide a reason. Have you spoken with Creation Service directly?

One way to deal with the situation is call the bank that’s denied you credit and talk to their reconsideration department. Most major banks in the US have an entire department setup to reconsider credit application that have been denied. They’re nice people and will work with you to approve the loan. They usually ask additional questions that may not have been on the application. They may ask about your employment, past employer, education etc. They will generally offer insights as to why you were originally denied. Good luck.

Are you in the UK, if not what country are you in?

Apple is not a bank and won’t know why a credit application is approved or declined. However, Apple Support in your country or region will have a phone number for you to contact the lender.

Yes I was also declined by Creation flexible finance despite having ‘Excellent’ credit score on Experian. (I paid off my previous phone finance with Barclays over a year ago.) I applied in person in the Apple Store, the assistant was so helpful but the Creation system on screen crashed the first time and it wouldn’t connect to my bank, so had to reenter all details. He said they have been having problems all morning with the Creation system. Second time the connection to bank worked, (and therefore hard credit check ran) but credit was declined. I found it really weird to be honest for such a small amount of credit (£799 over 30 months) and never had any problems with Barclays when I got my last phone. Very reluctant to apply again because I absolutely don’t want multiple hard checks on my credit file so I guess I’ll stick with my current phone for a bit longer. Not a fan of this new Creation financing

I'm based in the UK and same, I had an awful experience with Creation so far. They continuously mention that applications don't go ahead because of system glitches. Now it seems like the phone order has gone through for Apple via Creation, but Creation don't have any record of my finance application being approved. I used Barclays finance before and never had such a bad experience

They don't help identify whom to call at the Buy stage, apart from a snail mail address.

I applied for flexible finance with Apple on Sunday and was declined. I have "excellent " credit score according to credit check, im not over drawn, i always pay credit card in full, on time etc. I was told I would receive an email within 24hrs explaining why i was declined but im still waiting. Im unable to find contact details to speak to someone as you need an agreement number. Never been declined credit before. So annoying

Creation finance is a joke.

I have a credit score of 1150 and I have been financing iphones for the last 10 years. Never had any issues with Barclays.

now, these guys declined my finance.

well… it seems I won’t be getting any

iphone soon or any more.

I was to upgrade my 15 pro Max (which I got by financing it with Barclays).

not sure who’s losing here.

sort this out, Apple.

you are losing money!
