iPhone 14 screenshots not working after reinstalling apps

Hi. My iPhone 14 suddenly stopped taking screenshots. I updated to latest version of software, tried a restart, took the phone to an apple genius and we did a full reset. The buttons work individually so it’s not broken in that way. Following a full reset the screenshot briefly worked. Then I reinstalled all my apps etc and now it’s back to not working again. There were no new apps installed around the time the screenshot stopped working so it isn’t “an app”. Siri cannot take a screenshot and assisted touch menu also can’t take a screenshot. In short we have exhausted all the options, so am not sure what is blocking this …

If you own the phone, you should never, ever allow an employer to install a device profile on it. I suggest removing the MDM profile from your phone (if you are able to without them). Allowing an employer to have any control of a personal device is a serious privacy threat to you personally. Then, discuss with your employer that if they want you to use whatever apps that they require, that they will need to provide a separate phone for you.

I think I know what it might be

MDM (Mobile Device Management) Profiles:If your iPhone is managed by an employer, they can install profiles that disable camera/screenshot functions entirely.

I had to install one of these to access work items

I think they must have disabled screenshots completely

If you have a case on the iPhone remove it and then test. Particularly cheaper cases are bad at making contact with the physical buttons as the wear or shift over time. Testing without your case can prove or eliminate this as the potential cause.

A. Check iCloud Directly:

Go here: https://www.icloud.com/mail

B. Restore form a Backup:

Do you have a backup your iPhone prior to all of this? If so, you can restore your iPhone from it, as long as it is of the same iOS version.

B. Backup Prior to Restoring:

IMPORTANT: If you have an option to update, however, then be certain you backup your iPhone first. That way, you will have something to restore your iPhone from should anything go wrong with the update

C. Update the iPhone:

Cellular: Use an iPhone 12 or later, that is using 5G, in order to update over Cellular - User Tip

adding this as it was none of the below either:

it’s not a case as we took it out

its not storage data we’ve deleted all that

restoring didn’t work more than temporarily. It worked when the phone was empty of apps but as soon as we added them back and signed into things it stopped working
