Apple Music trial doesn't work, can't connect

When I opened the Apple Music app on my MacAir M2 yesterday, I received an offer to get a free month of Apple Music. However, after agreeing to the offer, all I get is a couple of error messages. If I go to the Home tab, or try to actually play music I get these wonderfully helpful error messages.

I have an Internet connection, the Apple site shows the services are up, I can even get to the Apple Music page that shows the latest releases they're promoting.

If you have held an Apple Music subscription at any time before, you may not be eligible for the free trial.

Else:

Apple support has a trouble-shooting article online that may be helpful with connecting to Apple Music:

You may need to log-in to Apple Music with your Apple Account details to activate the free trial

See how to: Sign in to your Apple Account in Music on Mac - Apple Support

You may want to try: Use Sync Library with your Apple Music subscription - Apple Support

Else: On your Mac: If you still can't connect from the app

You may want to see if you can log-in to Apple Music online https://music.apple.com/

Even those who don’t subscribe to Apple Music "can search for music and listen to or watch previews of music and videos. If you’re using Safari, Chrome or Firefox, you can also listen to the Apple Music radio stations for free. (You must sign in to your Apple Account.)"
