Netflix Premium only allowed on one TV per Household

Hello

I have a question regarding how many apple TV boxes can stream Netflix at the same time. I would normally ask the question of Netflix, but have been told varying things by their chat agents over the past 5 days so hence am coming to this board.

I have 2 Apple TV devices. I have the Netflix premium plan, which should allow 4 simultaneous streams. I primarily use 2 of the Apple TV boxes and on occasion, an iPad. Over the past few weeks I keep getting an alert that says "Your TV isn't a part of the Netflix Household for this account"

I have successfully watched Netflix on these boxes for many years and bounced back and forth between the TVs without problems simply clicking on the Netflix app and starting a show. Now, If I sign into one, and then go back the next day to the other Appke TV, I get an alert on the second Apple TV Netflix App that it is not a part of the "Netflix Household". I then need to update the Netflix household by having them send me an email and confirm it is me - which takes some time and is frustrating to do every time I change to a different TV.

The agent I spoke with last night said that while Netflix can be watched on 4 devices at one time, it can only be watched on 1 TV at a time(he kept saying TV and I kept asking if he meant Apple TV). I confirmed that he was sure about that a few times. So, he said that any time I change to watch Netflix on a different Apple TV, I will get that alert that the TV is not a part of the Netflix household and then I need to update the Netflix household again.

I checked the community and found this asked one time previously with no answers.

If what the Netflix chat rep said is true it is a huge dissatisfier and unlike any other streaming service I have ever been a part of.

It also does not make much sense that I can watch it on 3 iPads / computers and an Apple TV box, but not 2 separate Apple TV boxes (and I am not even talking about simultaneous watching - just bouncing back and forth between two TVs on different days)

My option would seem to be to run the 2nd TV off my iPad or MacBook with a USBC-HDMI adaptor hardwired by HDMI to my TV or I could airplay/mirror (but would lose audio and video resolution).

I can't imagine I am the only person on earth with 2 TV's and using 2 apple TV boxes who uses Netflix - so am hoping some here have thoughts on what can be done (if anything).

Can anyone confirm if what this Netflix rep told me is correct (can't have Netflix logged into more than one TV/Apple TV at one time) and what other people have done in this situation?

Thanks for thoughts/help

Verify that both TVs (or Apple TV boxes) are on the same home network, thus having the same external IP address from Netflix’ POV. They wouldn’t be considered the same household if in different houses and/or different home networks). Mobile devices are expected to be on different networks, including cellular, and might be excluded from this policy.

Netflix has been getting more strict about household use, to prevent account sharing with other households (family, friends, and/or neighbors). Older similar questions and answers may not apply anymore.

Netflix blocks AirPlay (since 2019), so that wouldn't be a workable alternative.

I’m using mine on Two Apple TVs I own and one ATV I gave to my daughter, I left it signed in so she can use it and she’s on her own if it asks her to sign in. If I send her a code mine goes down , I need a code , then she’s lost hers. It was a viscious cycle you are experiencing. I also use on a MacBook and iPads occasionally. So far it’s not got me on the household alert, since getting rid of her constantly needing me to get her back in.

You do need to be on the same network. It goes by that if you happen to get logged out and need to sign in again.
