How to recover $650 stolen from Apple Cash via TikTok charges?

Apple Cash stolen $650.

Tik Tok charges. Alerted Green dot and froze account. Transactions posted as verified purchase but I was on the phone with Green dot at the time of charges and alerted to them that they were not me. I have since contacted Apple for support but not indicators of compromise found. Attempted to contact Tik Tok.. it’s been a joke as they only communicate via email and have yet to address my concerns. It has been since Dec 28 2025. I don’t k ow what to do. My information was some how used to send money to Tik Tok, Green Dot saw only that the request was authenticated as genuine, Apple can’t find evidence of fraud. This was not me, nor anyone with my information as no one has my information by my doing. My identity/credentials were some how used and my acct was drained. Any suggestions?

Only Tik-Tok can refund your money directly.

Green Dot can block future charges.

Apple Cash usage requires biometric authentication (Face ID or Touch ID) through Apple Pay. It's highly, highly unlikely and improbable that anyone managed to not only get access to your account, but to your face or thumbprint to confirm the purchase. It's more likely you unwittingly subscribed to a creator on Tik-Tok and used Apple Pay for that subscription with your Apple Cash account as the source.

You need to cancel your Tik-tok subscriptions as outlined by Tik-Tok in the link above.

I understand it may be highly highly unlikely, but I didn’t have a Tik Tok account prior to the charges. Additionally the charges are symbolic to a drain on the account. What I mean is it was a total of 9 transaction the were successful. It began by $129.67 then after I had insufficient funds.. I was charged $28.82 then again when I didn’t have that it dropped to $14.41. Until I didn’t have that. A subscription would be a set amount on a regular basis. These charges occurred all consecutively and within moments. The issue I am having with Tik Tok is that I am not being acknowledged by them through email. I do not have access to the account that was used to make the purchases as it was not created by me.

Jeff,

thank you for the info. I have requested the investigation findings from GreenDot. I will have to follow up on your last suggestion. Hopefully those that have been affected will recover what was stolen in time.

I would be surprised if Green Dot provides any information related to their investigation. I’ve posted additional information in the other thread. Please do not double post. I’ve you have additional questions, post them here. That thread may get nuked. Ask questions here and we can be civil.

Same thing happened to me! Never paid for anything on Tiktok. Don't even use the app. Never had any subscription payment in my previous Apple Cash history. It is all of sudden it just withdraw money from my cash card.

Jeff,

I would have posted these with my initial post had I realized you could add photos.. 😅 The Apple Cash statement shows EUR transactions. Not really solid proof of anything as if I wanted too I’m sure I could go to a Euro Tik Tok page but it is consistent with the claims of others. The additional screen shots show the declined transactions that I spoke of when I had insufficient funds. Hoping the documentation from Green Dot arrives soon.
