Acoustic Drums Kits missing sounds - Logic Pro 12

"acoustic drums pack"

After the update to Logic Pro 12.0 all the acoustics drum packs ask to re-download the sounds, even though they are already installed. When opening a kit, the result on each of these acoustic drums is a bass sound. I have checked the contents of Apple's new sound library several times, everything seems to be in place. This on 2 different machines (ARM) one under Sequoia and the other Tahoe.

This is the case for all the mode of the drummer session based on acoustic drums!

No worries! You're welcome.

And you're right. They need to do something. I don't know why this worked for some and others it didn't.

I had to manually copy over several .patch files from LP11's Package Contents/Resources/Patches and the entire Channel Strip Settings folder from the Library/Application Support/Logic in order for everything to appear in the Logic Library.

There are still missing sounds due to file extension changes. For example, the .pst and .aif files copy over but any instrument/sound using the .ubs extension have disappeared. (.loopdate files are no longer used either, just the .caf files.) It's quite the mess.

Thank you, I also went to consult this discussion thread, but no solution for acoustic drum kits, this also concerns multichannel kits (6.9GB) and which suffer from the same lack of link with their samples. ...the sounds remain ghosted.

On the other hand, the settings are well loaded, it is really with the samples that there is a big problem. I examined all the possible places, prefs files (I have trash, everything I could, and already reinstalled) .plist files in the lib, but found nothing obvious. The problem seems elsewhere, but where? 😅

Thank you very much for these answers, there are also users who report this problem on a Facebook group Apple Logic Pro Users Group

I specify that I am a long-time user, and that following a long series of content migration, sometimes on external disks, but most often internally on the main machine, I have never had to complain about the evolutions.

Although sometimes, an update may have posed a problem for some plugins, such as the introduction of MIDI 2.0 for example, the solution is quite easy to find. On this last migration, and the change of library format, it is very penalizing to no longer be able to use, serenely, the Session Drums using acoustic equipment, double pain.

Wow. I haven't pulled the trigger on updating to 12.01 until I back up EVERYTHING twice. I spent too much time getting this version to work. I looked through all the Audio files and found thousands of loops that weren't copied over for some reason, and just spent a couple of days scrolling through, dragging and dropping files into the LP12 Loops Browser.

I don't know if I want to upgrade now since several threads note that it broke more than it fixed.

If it doesn't get better, I may follow my friends and start using other DAWs. I'm even thinking of getting a PC but Windows is not much better.

Venting Rant Alert! =)

It seems that companies have become totally dependent on brand more than product/service. It's heartbreaking when investors take over a company in place of the engineers. Focus is now solely on profit than innovation. It becomes a sure bet that quality plummets while prices rise. It seems that everything that Wall Street touches it corrupts, withers and dies; science, engineering, healthcare, politics, etc. The love of money, truly, is the root of all evil. Thank you. I had to get that out. =)
