Reinstalling High Sierra on new SSD

I’m trying to reload High Sierra on 2011 MBP. HD died, replaced with a SSD and after install Disc and updates I get as far as Lion. I keep trying to update but it says it’s up to date. What’s happening? How can I get to High Sierra? Tya

If it's any consolation, High Sierra is not useful for much any more. Many websites won't load, email services won't work.. etc.

Is there a reason you want it? You can, for example, install Linux Mint on that Mac and probably extend its useful life for years. The SSD will then have been a worthwhile investment, otherwise lost on an outdated operating system.
