FCP X Error: Unable to save new library or access existing libraries on late 2015 iMac

FCP X Error: The storage location for one or more libraries is no longer available. The libraries will be closed so that no work is lost.

I suddenly got this error and am a bit lost. I have been using FCP for years in my late 2015 imac (Version 12.7.6) with no problems. I have checked that FCP has Full Disk Access. Also I cannot create a new library. When I try I get this error; Failed to save. Unknown store type, format, or version.

I can open the library but the second I try to change it I get the first error. Any help?

Thank you for the reply.

Since it is on the internal drive, the question about drive formatting is moot.

Letting your drive fall to very low free space probably caused some data corruption.

Furthermore, a Fusion Drive was a trick that Apple created to bridge the gap between largish but slow HD and small but much faster SSD. It is composed of two drives that appear as one to the user. Sometimes, the underlying structure that makes a Fusion Drive work as such can get corrupted.

I would first of all make sure to have a good backup.

Then I would run Disk Utility from Recovery Mode and do a First Aid run on the Fusion Drive, and if it can repair it, in case it shows errors (which it probably will).
