Bob's suggestion to start a new thread with a link to the locked one is also what I would suggest. However, in my very long tenure here, I have seen very few people return weeks or months later to check for new replies.

If the thread has been closed for a long time and the user you want to contact doesn't show as having posted recently, what you want may be impossible.
