Unable to Select or Search for Radio Stations in Shortcuts “Play Music” Action on macOS

macOS version: 26.2

Shortcuts version:  7.0 (4046.0.2.2)

Steps to Reproduce:

  1. Open the Shortcuts app on macOS.
  2. Create a new shortcut.
  3. Search for Music and add the Play Music action.
  4. Click the Music field inside the action to open the music selection dialog.

Observed Behavior:

In the selection dialog, I only see the following categories:

  • Playlists
  • Artists
  • Albums
  • Songs
  • Genres
  • Compilations
  • Composers

There is no option for Radio, and there is no way to search for or select a radio station that I regularly listen to in the Music app.

I would like to choose my favorite radio station (from Apple Music Radio) so that the shortcut can automatically start playing it at a scheduled time.

Question:

Is there a way to search for and select an Apple Music radio station inside the Shortcuts “Play Music” action on macOS? If not, is there another action or method that allows starting a specific radio station automatically at a planned time?

The trick is to copy the radio station link in the Music application, and paste the link into a "Open URLs" action in the Shortcuts application.

In Music, move the cursor over a radio station, click the ⋯⃝ icon and choose Share > Copy Link. Then in the Shortcuts app, add the "Open URLs" action, click the "URL" variable in the action and use the keyboard shortcut command + V to paste the link.
