How do I fix 'slow charger' issue with non-Apple cord after iOS update?

i have been using the same non-apple charging cord for the last 2 years. immediately after the latest ios update a few days ago, it wont charge my phone beyond 60%, and after an entire night of charging it only 52%. My battery capacity is 82% ….it shows as “slow charger”. The only thing that has changed is the ios update…and YES i did turn off the “optimized battery charging”

That is pretty close to the 80% limit that Apple recommends replacing the battery at. Your battery may be failing.

Batteries degrade over time with usage due to chemical aging.

You can expect about a 1% drop per 50 charging cycles (25 charging cycles for IPhone 14 and older) with average use on an iPhone. This is an approximation, that is why it may be plus or minus a few percent on a month to month basis.

Apple recommends replacing it when it reaches 80%.

pretty big coincidence that it happened the very minute i did the update. i just plugged in with the Apple charger that it came with and it charges fine. I prefer the newer type cables that are magnetic and i dont believe all 3 i have could have all failed at same time. i guess it’s just apple making sure that we all use only their “accessories “
