Hi JherschelN

welcome to this Apple (user-to-user) Community,

Re: "icloud renewal failure" "I paid money inti my apple subscription fund on the understanding that my icloud would automatically renew but it did not".

We are all Apple users, like yourself, in the community. No-one here has access to your accounts or details.

Your Apple Account is the one account you use to access Apple services like the App Store, Apple Music, iCloud, iMessage, FaceTime, and more. It includes the email address and password you use to sign in as well as the contact, payment, and security details you use across Apple services. You can log-in: https://account.apple.com/

Once begun, an iCloud subscription is generally charged for automatically each month, yet there needs to be a valid payment method available in your Apple Account at all times for that to happen..

Perhaps there was not a valid payment method available, (or enough money in your Apple Account if that can be used in your country or region) when it was time for Apple to charge for your subscription:

See: What you can buy with your Apple Gift Card or Apple Account balance - Apple Support

Eg: says:

"Some purchases might require that you have a credit card on file, even if you use your Apple Account balance to make the purchase."

Check what payment methods Apple can accept in your country or region:

If needed: See how to: Add a payment method to your Apple Account - Apple Support
