Final Cut Pro not loading on MacBook Pro 2024

Hello, I am editing a project on my MacBook Pro 2024 . Everything has been normal, and I am new to Final Cut. I opened the app, and it's stuck loading with the spinning rainbow cursor. I can't do anything or even go full screen or use the tabs at the top of my Mac. I tried updating, resetting my computer, and even deleting and reinstalling the app to refresh it. Nothing is working, and I have a deadline coming up.

Did you try resetting FCP preferences? Hold option and command while launching and then choose Delete Settings. FCP will open the default Untitled library. Reopen the problem library and see if the behavior changes.

Problem fixed! I went to Downloads on my Mac, typed in "Final Cut," and saw the 4-star events. I had to update the files individually. Thanks for trying to help!

Hi(bonjour),

It seems that the BRAW toolbox generated clip are missing, there is a reconnect tool within Braw toolbox. Search their help menu in or website to get info about reconnection.

What version of MacOS? What version of FCP? Is the BRAW toolbox plugin current? I don't use it but I think there was a new version just released.

Terry is correct. A new version of the BRAW toolbox, 2.0.0 (80) was released yesterday, 2/4/2026. That may solve your problem.

Everything is updated. Even when I plug in my external drive, the clips pop up, but unfortunately, everything in FCP is frozen, so I can't do anything. I have version 12.0 of FCP. My macOS is version 26.2.

The BRAW toolbox clips aren't the problem; everything is updated. Even when I have it plugged into my computer, I can see the clips in FCP, but I can't use FCP. Everything is frozen; nothing has changed. I've searched online a lot, and I haven't seen anyone with the same problem as I have. Usually, the spinning wheel of doom appears when you are editing, and something is added. In my case, I did nothing out of the ordinary. I clicked the app, and everything froze from the start.

Unfortunately that didn't work. I think I'm going to restart my project in Premiere Pro and fully delete FCP, then reinstall it to see if it makes a difference :)
