Appointments on iCal on my iMac 24" gone after updating to iOS 26.2

When I opened my Calendar today all my past and future appointments were gone. I recently updated to Tahoe 26.2 on my iMac 24". Yesterday the calendar was as it has been. Today, everything is gone. I don't backup to iCloud. What is going on with this new iOS? Is there any way I can get those appointments back?

I have most of my appointments on my iPhone 15. Is there a way to copy that Calendar to the iMac Calendar without using iCloud?

I tried that. The problem is that NONE of the calendars I had were available. I checked my internet accounts and was able to fix the problem by allowing iCloud to see my calendar. I wish Apple would not automatically sync everthing to iCloud without my permission. This is why I so dislike upgrading iOS. Thank you for your help!

Open the calendar app on your iMac and in the top left corner, you should see a small calendar icon. Make sure all the checkboxes on the sidebar that pops up are all on.

iOS/MacOS is irrelevant, but thank you for the correction. I don't use iCloud, so I don't know how it did it, because I have never synced any of my apple devices to iCloud. JS They could be more transparent on that feature and educate those that doesn't understand and/or want their information floating around on someone elses' computer to be hacked. ;)
