Unable to Enable iCloud Photos Despite Enough Storage and iCloud 2TB (iPhone 12 Pro Max)
Hello Apple Community,
I’m experiencing an issue where I cannot enable iCloud Photos, even though all requirements seem to be met.
Device details:
- iPhone 12 Pro Max
- iOS 26 (latest)
- iPhone storage: 256 GB total, 36.5 GB free
- iCloud storage: 2 TB plan
- Photos library size: ~148 GB
Issue:
When I try to turn on iCloud Photos (Settings → Apple ID → iCloud → Photos), it shows “Unable to enable iCloud Photos” / the toggle cannot be turned on.
What I’ve already tried:
- Upgraded iCloud storage from 200 GB to 2 TB
- Freed up iPhone storage (now 36.5 GB free)
- Restarted the iPhone multiple times
- Updated iOS to version 26
Despite all this, the issue still persists.
Are there any additional steps I should try before contacting Apple Support?
Thank you in advance for any help.
