Apple TV subtitles will not turn off
Why won’t subtitles turn off on Apple TV Gen 4? I have followed all the instructions, and none work. There must be a solution.

Some content may have “hard subtitles” or “burned-in subtitles” or “open captions”, that are basically part of the video. Those can’t be turned off.
Most regular content in most apps will have soft subtitles that can be changed or turned off. On the Apple TV box, you would be able to change that by clicking or swiping down to get the controls overlay, then navigate to the subtitles icon, select that to open its menu, to choose “Off” or a named language.
Apps that use their own player instead of Apple’s standard player, may have a different interface, and thus different controls and/or access to controls. E.g. the YouTube app.

Is your issue with all content, or is it about a specific app or specific content (e.g. a specific TV show)?
Is your Apple TV box running the latest version system software, tvOS 26.2?
