26.2 update has broken my phone?

since updating my iphone to iOS 26.2 I’ve been experiencing a few weird things that aren’t getting better.

I’ve had this phone brand new (iPhone 16 plus) for about 3 months and it’s been perfect. However I updated my phone (manually) one day and my keyboard has stopped being as sensitive, and my brightness keeps going up and down as I’m using the phone (I’ve tried turning off auto brightness and toggled the tone setting, still does it) and my phone will sometimes freeze? The main issue that’s really annoying is the keyboard keys being unresponsive all the time! Winding me up now😂

Not sure if you want to go this deep at this point, but the next logical step would be to back up your iPhone on iCloud or a computer, and then erase the phone and set it up again from the backup.

This will install a new fresh version of iOS 26.2.1

No guarantees of course, but there is not really any other action to take at this point, unless you simply want to wait to see a future update will smooth things out.

Close out of all your apps, and then do a force restart outlined here Force restart iPhone - Apple Support

Thank you for responding with your concerns, xoscenequeen.

Force your iPhone to restart:

  1. Press and quickly release the volume up button.
  2. Press and quickly release the volume down button.
  3. Press and hold the side button until you see the Apple logo (this might take longer than 10 seconds).

If that was too difficult, then simply ask Siri: "Restart".
