Phone app Recents tab slow to display call logs

There is a significant time delay (latency) when accessing the "Recents" tab in the Phone app. After ending a call or opening the app, the most recent call logs do not appear immediately. It takes several seconds (and sometimes requires closing and reopening the app) for the log to refresh and display the latest entries.
