Problems with Siri on locked iPhone 17 while connected to hearing aids

I recently upgraded to an iPhone 17 running IOS 26.2.1. I use MiFi connected hearing aids. With my hearing aids connected and the iPhone locked, Sri will not respond consistently. Most times, the screen border lights up and I hear a ding in my hearing aids but I do not get a response. Occasionally, Siri provides an answer. Siri worked flawlessly on my previous iPhone SE 3 and iPhone 11.

Has anyone else had a problem with Siri while using hearing aids?

Note, when hearing aids are disconnected, I have no issues. Similarly, if I'm using airPods Pro 2, I have no issues.
