Faulty data ports on iPhone 17s

I have an iPhone 17 Pro Max with a USB-C port that no longer transfers data between my phone and Mac, and cannot be seen by my Mac (i.e., no longer appears in side bar as a connected device). I have had this phone replaced once already - actually Apple repaired it with a new logic board and port (so body of phone), and it was a huge pain in the rear end to get my carrier to recognize the repair and activate a "new" phone since the IMEI numbers were changed as part of the repair.

This week, I lost the ability to transfer data between my iPhone and Mac. I think most people won't notice if their phones stop transferring data because they don't sync in the old-school fashion like I do. I don't like Apple Music service so I don't sync my library with my devices because I like to control what's on where, and I hate when Apple replaces my files with their own.

Anyone else with this issue? I see it was raised in September 2025, but the community or moderator or system closed the thread. I think this could be a real issue affecting a large number of phones, but I am having trouble finding more information.

It is not an iPhone or Mac issue; the cable is at fault.

Search for accessories that have completed MFi certification. Once an accessory has completed MFi certification requirements and is reported to Apple as sold/distributed, it will be searchable in our public database of authorized Lightning, headset, charging, iAP-enabled, and Find My network-enabled accessories.

I’m already using only Apple cables, from Apple. They’re not fake unless the Apple Store is selling counterfeit product.

My carrier has opted to replace the phone entirely.

All the cables I’m using were also used on my iPhone 15 pro and it never had a problem with the data port.

Thanks for playing… your response assumes facts not in evidence.
