AirPods Max microphone is muffled

Airpod max's microphone being insanely muffled. I picked up my max today and when I tested the microphone quality with my friends and myself, it was beyond muffled to the point I couldnt even understand myself.

AirPods microphone is very muffled When I try to talk to anyone using my AirPods I get complaints from every person I’ve attempted to talk to that I am super muffled and they can’t understand me. Is so inconvenient!! I can hear with no issues. I paid a lot for these the microphones should work!!

AirPods Max sound quality worsens when using mic Hi! I’ve had my AirPods since March and I’ve noticed that the audio gets somewhat “crunchy” whenever I use its mic? It’s happened fresh out of the box. When on a call, they seem perfectly fine, but basically any non Apple program gives me bad audio quality if it uses a mic at the same time. Anyway to fix this?
