iPhone RCS activation stuck, not receiving iPhone / Android group texts previously set to “Hide Alerts”

Upgraded from iPhone 14 with US Cellular to iPhone 17 with T-Mobile and now “RCS Messaging” is stuck in waiting for activation loop.

I’m not receiving texts in iPhone / Android text groups where I had marked “Hide Alerts” on my old phone. On old phone I was able to receive the texts, just not a notification. On new phone I can’t receive texts in these groups (I still can send texts to these groups, though).

I noticed the RCS Messaging issue and thought it might have something to do with it.

Anyone solved this use case that’s willing to share how you did it?

Thanks!
