I am writing to describe a persistent problem with my iPhone 17 Pro that appeared after installing the latest iOS update (iOS 26.2.1).

Problem Description:

After updating to iOS 26.2.1, my iPhone’s lock screen and home screen always appear black• , even though the icons and status bar are normally visible.

The phone otherwise functions normally — apps open, icons and menus are visible — but I cannot change the wallpaper• on either the lock screen or the home screen.

When I try to open the Settings• app or access wallpaper settings, the screen briefly lights up as if a change will happen, but then immediately reverts to black.

I have attempted resetting all settings, performing a full erase/restore, and multiple restarts, but nothing has fixed the issue• .

The phone still responds and works properly in other ways, but the wallpaper and screen display behavior is completely broken• .

Because the problem started right after updating iOS and persists through resets, it seems to be a software issue caused by the latest iOS release, not a hardware defect.

I would appreciate any advice or support on how to fix this issue.

IF you truly restore your to factory settings and set it up as NEW and not from your backup, then you'll need to contact Apple or go to the nearest Apple to have your phone looked at.
